A brilliant afternoon spent at the Newbury Racecourse Business Club

We recently attended an inspiring event at Newbury Racecourse, hosted by the Newbury Racecourse Business Club. Set in the stunning Royal Box, the afternoon featured dynamic speakers, engaging conversations, and fresh ideas - highlighted by Monty Panesar’s talk and a behind-the-scenes tour.

From the views to the guest speakers, the whole afternoon was packed with great conversations, fresh ideas, and a real buzz of energy.

The event was held in the Royal Box - and yes, it’s just as good as it sounds. With sweeping views across the track and a beautiful interior, it’s one of those venues that makes you stop and take it all in. Definitely not your average networking location!

It was kicked off with a great overview of the event spaces at Newbury, courtesy of Phoebe Coppell. From massive hospitality suites to smaller meeting rooms, the racecourse has a lot more to offer than you might expect.

The real highlight? Hearing from former England cricketer Monty Panesar. He opened up about his journey through international cricket and how he’s been carving out a new path after sport. His honesty and humour really stood out. The Q&A with Gus Mackay was brilliant too - genuine engagement, loads of questions, and a lot of energy in the room. Big shoutout to Cirka UK for making that happen.

The afternoon concluded with a behind-the-scenes course walk, led by George Hill, Clerk of the Course. Hearing how the team prepares the track for race days gave us a new appreciation for the detail and care that goes into every event there. It was one of those “you don’t get this every day” moments.

To wrap things up, Olly Stern announced a brand new venue joining the Network My Club lineup: the Red Rose Business Club at Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire Cricket Club. As Rockvolt continues to build our network, we’re always glad to see more quality spaces and events popping up around the country.
